
Jim Tharakan is an experienced Human Resources professional with a remarkable 20-year career in regional and country-level leadership roles. He is a cisgender heterosexual male who has made significant contributions to the field of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) by leading the LGBTQ pillar in a Danish Life Sciences multinational corporation for 2.5 years.
He is an Inclusion coach, and his approach to creating inclusive workplaces revolves around the education of human sexuality at various levels within organisations, including leadership, managers, and employees. He has fearlessly addressed a topic that is often considered taboo and feared in the workplace, working diligently to break down barriers and promote understanding.
Jim facilitated closed-group education sessions that sensitised over 400 employees on sexual orientation, contributing to a more inclusive and accepting work environment.
He has been championing disabilities and the REN pillars as well. Recently, he has been diagnosed with partial and severe hearing impairments.
He has had a wide range of corporate engagement experiences over the last 20 years, including at Adobe, Siam Computing, DSM, and FMC Corporation.
Social sector engagements have been with Manzil Mystics, Deer Park Institute, Sehmat, Nirvair, and Udaan.
Founded Taboodana, a facilitation initiative using Storytelling and reflections on uncomfortable topics.
